The Cancer Support Center is accepting orders through Friday, Nov. 24, for its sale of holiday wreaths and trees. The sale is for 24-inch Fraser Fir wreaths for $30, 6- to 8-foot Fraser Fir trees for $50 and 8- to 10-foot Fraser Fir trees for $65. Pick-up will be  at the Village of Homewood’s Holiday Lights festival on Dec. 1.  The distribution site is Martin Avenue and Chestnut Road across from village hall. A limited number of wreaths and trees will be available for purchase that evening. Orders can be placed . . .

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
