Drama Group wraps up 86th season with ‘Heathers: The Musical’

“Heathers: The Musical,” a dark musical comedy, will be staged by The Drama Group over two weekends July 28 through Aug. 6.
The musical is set in the 1980s, so the show has an ‘80s rock beat. It is a story of teen love and angst that focuses on a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique known as The Heathers.  Her new friends pressure her to undertake acts of cruelty, but her boyfriend comes to her rescue and helps her plot her revenge.
Performers include Tucker DeBolt, Zoe Branch and Christian Mayo of Homewood. This production is being directed by Curt and Tammy Lang. 
This show is the final production in the Drama’s Group’s 86th season. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 28 and 29; at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3, 4 and 5; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, and Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5 and 6.
All performances are at The Drama Group’s Milord Studio Theater, 330 W. 202nd St., Chicago Heights. Tickets are $21 for adults; $20 for seniors and $15 for students with ID.
