Author Fern Schumer Chapman and her mother, Edith Westerfeld, will discuss “Edith’s Immigration Journey: A Refugee’s Story of Prejudice and Empathy” during a 1:30 p.m. presentation on Nov. 5 at B’nai Yehuda Beth Sholom, 1424 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The story revolves around Edith Westerfeld, 92, whose parents sent her to relatives in the United States in 1938 when she was 12 to protect her from the Nazis.
