Homewood to hold public hearing Tuesday on proposed bond issue

Staff at the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Racquet & Fitness Club will welcome the community to its open house from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. There is no set program. The community is welcome to watch or join in activities, including small group training demonstrations, a group fitness class, the Pilates studio or tennis courts, or take a swim. A raffle ticket will be given to everyone who attends to win prizes throughout the day. During the open house, there is an in-person membership special for those who join . . .

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
