Improvements included in park district’s budget

Two Flossmoor dental practices are taking part in this year’s statewide Veterans Day dentistry program. On Nov. 11, veterans can receive free dental treatment at the Southland Smiles and the Center for Dental Excellence.  The program is sponsored by the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) to show appreciation to veterans across the state. Illinois veterans are eligible to receive a complimentary dental exam at participating practices. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
