Man charged with armed robbery following heist at CVS store

Brian C. Johnson, the CEO of Equality Illinois, will speak at the Sept. 20 meeting of Lighthouse LGBTQ+. The meeting will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Community House, 847 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor.   • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
