Artists’ donations sought for SSFS benefit

The community is invited to the South Suburban Family Shelter (SSFS) 12th annual candelight vigil at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Irwin Park, Ridge Road at Highland Avenue in Homewood. The vigil will feature music by members of Bel Canto Children’s Choir and a presentation by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. She will discuss how domestic violence and sexual assault cases are handled by the State’s Attorney’s Office.  Participants will also hear from former SSFS clients discussing how, as victims of domestic violence, they received help from SSFS.   . . .
