Rep. Kelly calls proposed federal budget ‘awful’

To mark Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Bottle & Bottega, 2009 Ridge Road in Homewood, is hosting a male nude model paint night Friday, Sept. 15, to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). The model will be at the 7 to 10 p.m. party as a way “to take ladies’ night out to a whole new level and undress the truth about one of the most significant health issues facing more than three million American men today – prostate cancer,” said Darcie Loudon who with her husband, Greg, runs the downtown Homewood business. Bottle & Bottega guests can also . . .

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
