Job fair set for July 8 at Homewood Library

Residents are invited to a job fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, at the Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway. Organizer Justin Mahwikizi of Homewood said local employers with available job openings will be on hand to meet job seekers. Participating employers represent a variety of industries, including insurance, education and retail. “The fair is an excellent way for local job-seekers to learn about job opportunities in the area and to meet face-to-face with potential employers,” Mahwikizi said.  “It is (my) hope to organize semi-annual job . . .

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
