H-F assistant principal Fantin resigns

I sat first chair, second clarinet in my grade school band. We were giving a holiday concert for what to me felt like an enormous audience, by my limited 8th grade standards, that was made up of our parents and other assorted teachers, staff and students. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
