Flossmoor resident helping promote Make-A-Wish Gala May 20

A Homewood man faces a number of charges after allegedly robbing one local bank and attempting to rob another on Wednesday, Aug. 10.Brandon Darty, 24, of the 19100 block of Pierce Ave., was charged with felony robbery of a financial institution and misdemeanor aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer.Homewood police said Darty approached a teller at TCF Bank, 17830 Halsted St., shortly before 11 a.m. and demanded $300.   • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
