  Joe Mancini

Joe Mancini, an employee in the Homewood Department of Public Works since 2001, was promoted to fleet supervisor July 3.

He will be responsible for more than 400 pieces of equipment, including 45 public works vehicles and 22 police squad cars.

Mancini has been a mechanic since 1985 and joined the department as a mechanic.  Over time he moved to the Utility Division and became a utility technician overseeing the village’s water plants.

“Joe has the leadership capability, can-do attitude and respect of his peers,” Director of Public Works John Schaefer told the village board July 25 before Mancini was sworn in to office.

Mancini and his wife, Stacie, live in Chicago Heights.
