Japanese guitarist performs April 23

  Hiroya Tsukamoto performs  in Flossmoor at 3 p.m.  April 23. (Provided photo) Hiroya Tsukamoto, a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Kyoto, Japan, will perform at 3 p.m. April 23 in a private home in Flossmoor. Tsukamoto first studied banjo and then learned guitar. His talents were recognized when he won a scholarship in 2000 to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.   • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
