Two Homewood businesses participate in Round It Up program to fund lymphoma research

The Homewood Public Library is hosting its first ever young readers Book Trivia SmackDown at 6 p.m. on July 26.  SmackDown is a trivia game that will test knowledge on the 2018 Rebecca Caudill Young Readers’ Book Award master list for middle school readers. The event is similar to the Battle of the Books, but SmackDown is an individual challenge. After reading a book from the 2018 Caudill List of books, visit the library to make your mark on the poster in the MidZone and see what everyone else is reading. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
