Glenwood resident Ron Zinnerman was appointed to the Homewood School District 153 board of education at the June 12 meeting.

Zinnerman replaces Steve Anderson, who resigned from the school board following his election to the Homewood-Flossmoor High School board of education in April.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
