Housing Expo March 4 in Lansing

Homewood-Flossmoor High School Thespian Troupe No. 2062 recently inducted new members.Teacher Jill Bonavia-Galligani said students are selected for membership if they have worked on a minimum of two H-F productions with a minimum of 100 hours work on those shows.  New members are: Freshmen — Charles Austin III, Chloe Battiste, Margaret Bauer, Nia Bell, Amber Jackson, Ava Jones, Jacob Kirlin, Emily Komorowski, Jonathan Kriarakis, Mia Napue, Jackie Navarro, Noelle Oh, Kortni Robinson, Gretchen Schmidt and Nia Valdez. Sophomores — Joseph Alexander,Zoe Bridges, Adotey Doh, Amya Hampton, Leanna Lewis, Mackenzie Lyseng, Jordan . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
