Vice District owners report steady progress at brewery, taproom

The Forest Preserves of Cook County invites the public to discover the flora and fauna of the urban preserves with a special day of activities during the annual Nature Block Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13. Nature Block Party is free to attend, and will take place at Eggers Grove, 11201 S.   • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
