Flossmoor officials are hosting a “State of the Village” town hall meeting this month.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27 at the village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road.
Mayor Paul Braun announced the town hall event during Monday’s village board meeting.
According to a village press release, Flossmoor’s mayor and trustees will make a report to the community on concerns that are relevant to local residents, business owners and organizations.
The report will focus on economic development, village finances and taxes, programs, services and other issues. The board will also delve into Flossmoor’s strengths and challenges.
Following the board’s remarks, there will be a question and answer session in which officials will answer questions from community members.
Braun said he and Flossmoor board members are often asked “big picture questions” that aren’t always talked about at twice-monthly business meetings.
“So, we decided to use a format used by other communities that would hopefully bring people out to hear what’s happening in the village — what we are working on, what our priorities are and more,” he said.
Braun said he hopes the meeting will open up another avenue of communication by “letting the public know what’s happening with the village and providing them an opportunity to share concerns.”
