Mu Alpha Theta math honors society and the Spanish, French, Art and Tri-M Music National Honor Societies at Homewood-Flossmoor High School are inducting new members. To be selected for Mu Alpha Theta, students have an A average in regular level math classes, or grades of A and B in honors level math classes; have completed the first semester Algebra 2/Trig and be enrolled in the second semester; and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 4.5 on a 6.0 scale. Newly inducted members are: Nicholas Amuh, Journey Barsh, Louis . . .

Winter events



  • Nanny Nikki holiday music program at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., at 11 a.m.
  • You Matter 2 Winter Wonderland from noon to 4 p.m. at Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road. Holiday fun and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets are $5 to $10 at bit.ly/3VLh2m4.
  • Miracle on Martin in downtown Homewood, 3 to 6 p.m. Ice sculpture walk, horse-drawn carriage rides, s’mores and more.
