PSC jazz fest Feb2017

Each year Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s graduating class sends students to top colleges and universities. One top 2017 graduate, Shannon Jordan, will be going to Harvard University.   Shannon Jordan“I’m so excited! Harvard’s always been my dream school,” Shannon said. She applied to 10 schools and was admitted to each, although Harvard had put her on a deferred list.   That forced Shannon to look at other schools and she was near a final decision when she heard from Harvard that she’d been accepted starting in the fall 2017 semester.  . . .

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
