Guest speakers and workshops will help enlighten teens on how to prepare for their futures at the “All the Way Up – Preparing for Greatness” youth empowerment conference.
The free program for sixth graders through seniors in high school and their parents is set for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Hillcrest High School, 17401 Crawford Ave. in Country Club Hills.
Workshop titles include:
· You Can Never Say No, NO, Unless You Know, KNOW: Drugs & Alcohol
· Don’t Underestimate Your Company: Peer Pressure
· Police Interaction: Make It Home
· Investing in Yourself: For Teenage Girls
· Elements of Manhood: For Teenage Males
Seminars for parents will also be available. Topics focus on preparing a child for college, balancing careers and children and health care topics.
This event is organized by the Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter (JASSAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in conjunction with JASSAC Charitable Foundation Inc.
