Growth proves H-F Chronicle is a hit with community

Baseball season officially opens in Homewood and Flossmoor on Saturday, April 22, when little leaguers, baseball and softball players march in opening day parades. Flossmoor Baseball parade steps off at 8:30 a.m. from Parker Junior High on Flossmoor Road. The route heads east and then north at Brassie Avenue to the Bronco Field at Flossmoor Park.  League mascot Home Run Hank will be tossing out T-shirts to the parade goers. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
