St. Baldrick’s volunteers needed

Students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School are asking community members to step up to fight pediatric cancer by volunteering to have their heads shaved as part of the 2017 St. Baldrick’s event.

The National Honor Society is sponsoring the program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, in the high school’s South Building cafeteria.

Participants who have their heads shaved raise money through pledges for pediatric cancer research. Each volunteer is given a time slot, and family and friends are encouraged to attend and give moral support.

Malika Toguem, president of the NHS, said the organization is searching for barbers and stylists who will volunteer their time and services for the event.

Donations to support research of pediatric cancer are being accepted.

If you would like to be a St. Baldrick’s fundraising volunteer willing to have your head shaved, or are a professional willing to assist at the event, contact Malika for additional information at [email protected]
