Update Thursday from Homewood police: "Mr. Umbenstock was located in Chicago late in the evening on April 12, 2017 unharmed and in good health. He was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure."

The Homewood Police Criminal Investigations Unit was continuing its investigation and search Wednesday, April 12, for a 64-year-old missing man.

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
