The Homewood District 153 school board will conduct a special meeting on May 1 to swear in three incumbents, but one seat will remain vacant ― for the time being. Deborah Smith Havighorst, Gregory Lawrence and Shelly Marks were re-elected to four-year terms in the April 4 election. They were unopposed. Board member Steve Anderson will be resigning his position after 10 years. He won election to the District 233 school board for Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
