Homewood Krispy Kreme opens, marking chain’s Chicago-area return

Curt Schubert has joined the administrative staff at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights as its chief financial officer (CFO). Schubert has 10 years of experience as a CFO at The Children’s Place Association, a child welfare organization in Chicago. He also has worked at Lutheran Social Services and in public accounting. Schubert, a resident of Justice, is a graduate of DePaul University and is a certified public accountant. “Curt brings extensive knowledge in crucial areas, including accounting, budgeting, contract compliance, facilities management and auditing,” said Marian Catholic President Vince Krydynski . . .

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
