Homewood-Flossmoor High School invites the community to its 2nd Annual Pursuing the Dream program, a free event on Wednesday, Jan. 18, dedicated to celebrating black history and encouraging unity.
The 7 p.m. program will be in the Mall Auditorium.
Keynote speaker will be John Fountain, award-winning author, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and professor at Roosevelt University. In addition, guests will hear first-hand accounts from those who faced cultural barriers.
“Our theme this year is ‘Where do we go from here?’ While we are different in appearance, our existence is made rich by acknowledging, accepting and learning from our differences,” said program organizer Broderick Booth, an H-F dean of students.
The event will feature theme-based performances by the H-F Band, H-F Steppers and members of H-F’s choirs and speech team.
