LifeSource is looking for blood donors to meet the needs of trauma victims and others. The measured snowfall on Monday had a negative impact on blood donations. “We’re asking all eligible donors to make a donation appointment now to help ensure blood products are available for patients in need,” said LifeSource Executive Director Eva Quinley. LifeSource community donor centers are at 2 River Plaza in Lansing and 11120 W. 179th St. in Orland Park. LifeSource has an immediate need for donors with type O negative blood because it can help patients with any blood type . . .

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
