Area residents have until March 26 to help two local businesses raise money for lymphoma research. The program, called "Round It Up," gives customers of Family Video and Marco's Pizza, both at 2010 183rd St. in Homewood, a chance to round up their purchase amount to the nearest dollar, donating that extra change to the fundraiser. All donations will be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
