House ad – summer interns Dec2016

Of the 65 candidates running for local elections in Homewood-Flossmoor next month, at least 36 are professionals with advanced degrees.

Among those whose names will be on the ballot on April 4, nine are attorneys, three are college professors and three are engineers. Others work in law enforcement, finance and banking, consulting, insurance, teaching, accounting, marketing, real estate and nursing. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
