The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) will welcome guest maestro Darko Butorac as conductor for its 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, performance “Opposites Attract.” The concert is at Lincoln-Way West Performing Arts Center, 21701 Gougar Road in New Lenox. Butorac will direct the orchestra’s performances of Verdi's “La forza del destino Overture,” Mozart's “Sinfonia Concertante” and Prokofiev's “Symphony No. 5.” Butorac will give a pre-concert talk in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. He is the fourth conductor candidate as the IPO searches for a new permanent maestro.
