Man eluding police causes power outage Thursday in Homewood

Area students and parents are invited to Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s 6th Annual Careers in STEM Night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the high school.

Professionals will share what it takes to launch a successful career in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). H-F counselor Roberto Suarez is organizing the event presented by the H-F Gifted Committee.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
