Man eluding police causes power outage Thursday in Homewood

A Richton Park man's attempt to elude Olympia Fields police ended in Homewood on Thursday morning with a traffic accident that resulted in a power outage.Charles White, 59, was allegedly involved in an altercation with an Olympia Fields police officer and was attempting to elude arrest, according to Olympia Fields police. White was charged by Olympia Fields police with aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery to a police officer and a number of traffic offenses, police said.   • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
