Fundraiser for local cancer victim will be Saturday in Flossmoor

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., who represents Homewood and Flossmoor in Congress, addressed news that a federal judge ordered the government not to deport immigrants stopped at airports. A number of people were detained at U.S. airports on Saturday,  including about a dozen people at O'Hare International Airport, as a result of the President Trump’s executive order barring individuals from seven Muslim-majority countries. Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
