Homewood Beautification Committee recognizes 50 businesses

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Mother & Son Date Night event Dec. 10 gave moms and their sons some quality time together decked out in their favorite pajamas.

Despite the snowy weather, the 81 people in attendance were warm in the H-F Sports Complex gym where the boys and their mom dates enjoyed a meal before the boys played some pick-up basketball.

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
