Flossmoor sales tax figures triple following Meijer opening

It was strike two for Raj’s Food & Liquor Inc. Tuesday when a motion to issue a liquor license at the proposed store location, 17532 Dixie Highway, died for the lack of a second.

It was the second time the Homewood Village Board did not take a vote on the liquor license. The refusal to act on the request was a repeat of the board’s response at the Nov. 8 meeting.

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
