There’s a chance that 1,000 area residents will wind up on the front page of the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle.
The Chronicle, a sponsor of the Cancer Support Center’s Walk of Hope on Sunday, has created a special “selfie frame” that looks like a page from Homewood-Flossmoor’s local newspaper.
Made for the event, the frame features a special cutout large enough for two adults. It also includes community news stories including one on the walk and another on BOOgie Nights, an upcoming fundraiser for the CSC on Oct. 22.
It will be available along the walk, which has drawn from 800 to 1,000 participants over the years and become an important fundraiser for the center.
“We are really fortunate to have the Cancer Support Center as a resource in this community, and the Chronicle is glad to help support it,” said Patty Houlihan, public outreach manager.
“It’s wonderful that so many people come out every year for the Walk of Hope. We hope our ‘front page’ will help people capture good memories from the event.”
The Walk of Hope begins at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at Irwin Park in Homewood.
