Thursday is the deadline for entries in a 2nd Congressional District #02ByYou online photo competition.
U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., invites residents and visitors to reveal the beauty and distinctiveness of the district she represents in Congress.
“I’m leaving it to the imagination of our talented photographers to highlight what makes our district so special,” Kelly said. “You can capture photos of scenery, people working or celebrating together, diversity, etc. It’s up to you to decide.”
Participants should select one or two photos for inclusion. Entries can be sent to [email protected] by 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Photos will be published on Facebook on Sept. 1 and constituents can vote for their favorite photo by using Facebook “likes” through Sept. 8, 2016.
Email entries must include the contestant’s name, address, telephone number, email address and social media username. Photos should also include a location, date taken and brief photo caption. If individuals are captured in the photo, contestants must obtain the consent and names of all those pictured.
All photos must be original and taken in the 2nd District. Higher resolution photos are strongly preferred. Ideal dimensions for Facebook cover photos are 828 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall.
By entering this contest, participants agree that the photo may be published, royalty free, in any communication from Rep. Kelly’s office. The office reserves the right to reject entries.
