Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 30, the north entrance and the north half of the platform will be closed for repairs, according to a news release from the commuter railway company. Commuters will need to use the south entrance to reach the open portion of the platform for about six months.

The station will not be ADA accessible during the project, officials said. Commuters requiring ADA assistance will need to use the Harvey or Homewood stations.

Following the completion of the project, the south entrance and south half of the platform will undergo rehabilitation work and will also be closed for about six months.

A full renovation of Flossmoor’s platform and entry ways was completed last year.

Homewood’s Metra station is slated to be renovated in the future. An engineering firm is currently working on a feasibility study that is expected to be completed this fall. The project is contingent on funding, and Metra has not set a timeline yet.
