Chiropractic Care in Homewood celebrates 25th anniversary

With cold weather on the horizon, many people will be searching for ways to help their neighbors in need put food on the table, buy a warm coat for their child or pay the rent to be sure they have a warm place to sleep.

A charitable 5K race through Olympia Fields will provide an opportunity to raise funds that benefit Respond Now, the social service agency that helps residents of the South Suburbs meet basic needs in times of crisis.

Three other area agencies, including South Suburban PADS, will also benefit from the race . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
