Five arrested following early morning car burglaries in Flossmoor

Democrats will continue their efforts to win passage of gun violence prevention legislation with a rally at the United States Capitol on July 14.

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., will be joining Democrats on the West Lawn of the Capitol for the “Lighting the Way” rally. They deem it a continuation of the 26-hour sit-in they conducted on the floor of the House of Representatives in June.

The July 14 rally will draw attention to Democrats’ call for gun violence prevention by supporting comprehensive background checks; banning firearm sales to people who are listed on the Transportation Security Administration’s no-fly list because of suspected ties to terrorism; closing the Charleston Loophole that allows felons to buy guns if the FBI fails to complete a background check in three days; and barring firearm sales to hate crime offenders.
