Data shows improvements with Parker’s discipline program, principal says

Residents of Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 have until Friday, July 8, to file a letter of interest to apply for the vacant school board position.

Dave Mayer, who had served 11 years on the board, resigned June 22 after the board relieved Principal Ryan Pitcock of his position.

The person selected to fill the vacancy will serve until the next election on April 4, 2017. At that time, residents will select three board members: positions currently held by Richard T. Lites and Gerald Pauling and the Mayer vacancy.

Serving on the board is an unpaid, volunteer position.

Persons interested should submit a letter of interest to school board president Richard Lites, c/o Homewood-Flossmoor High School, 999 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor, IL 60422.

From the letters it receives, the board will select potential candidates for an interview. The person selected will be seated at the Aug. 16 board meeting.
