Flossmoor teen wins talent contest with an heirloom fiddle and two old tunes

The local baseball season has been under way for a couple of weeks. Homewood Baseball and Softball held its parade and opening day ceremony April 16, and Flossmoor Baseball and Softball followed suit on the 23rd. This gallery offers a look back at the festivities that launched the 2016 season.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
