Annual pancake breakfast feeds two needs

Can you give a few hours to do a good deed?

The Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF) is participating in Good Deeds Day on Sunday, April 10, and is looking for volunteers to help with three special projects in the South Suburbs.

Good Deeds Day is an annual celebration that unites over 60 countries around the world in doing good deeds.  The three projects in the South Suburbs are among 20 projects JUF is working on.

“You can be one of the millions of volunteers who put into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world,” said organizer Michelle Stern.

Volunteers are needed to work at a luncheon and movie showing for local men who participate in Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS). If volunteering isn’t possible, Stern asks for a donation of luncheon items.

The PADS luncheon sign-up link is: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4fa8ae22a75-lunch.

Volunteers are also needed to work on a community garden with Respond Now staff, or make fleece blankets and prepare cards for South Suburban Family Shelter.

Volunteers can register at: http://www.juf.org/tov/GoodDeedsDay.aspx.
