Homewood’s indoor farmers market returns Saturday

Meijer announced Monday it is seeking applicants for 280 jobs at its Flossmoor superstore, scheduled to open this summer. ​

In a press release, the retailer said available positions will include openings for clerks and cake decorators, customer service jobs, cashiers, receiving clerks and meat cutters. Starting pay will be based on experience level and specific skills. ​

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
