Homewood-Flossmoor High School students will be competing in the Illinois High School Association’s sectional tournament on Saturday after its two productions won top honors in an invitational meet.

H-F hosted the SWSC Drama and Group Interpretation Competition March 12.

“Better Nate Than Ever,” the H-F Group Interpretation, received straight superior ratings and the entire cast was named the All-Conference Cast, according to teacher Janine Stroemer.

Cast members are Aundria LaNier, Ethan Runburg, Jabari Tate, Jacob Rodriguez, Jeremiah Lee, Jessica Ashby, Joey Cipriano, Maddie Moxley, Maggie Colton, Rashun Carter, Sarah Skorupa and Will Knox.  The Group Interpretation is co-directed by Stroemer and Warren Sampson.

H-F’s contest play, “Tigers Be Still,” also received a superior rating and Kiya Cox-Bey was named to the All-Conference Cast.

 The technical crew was awarded the Tech-cellence Award for outstanding work during the technical set-up and strike of the play.  

The contest play is directed by teacher J.R. Rose, and Annie Calderon, assistant director. The tech crew is headed by technical director Ron Bowden.
