The sun was out and the temperatures were perfect, but the wind was whipping the flag Phil Knight, assistant superintendent of golf at Coyote Run, planted Tuesday on the 16th green. He and fellow staff members worked the past week mowing greens, changing cups, getting bunkers ready and picking up debris to get the course in shape for the early rush of golfers. Knight said there was so much demand that the staff of the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s golf course allowed walking golfers to play Tuesday. The scheduled opening for Coyote Run is Saturday.
