The District 153 Board of Education presented the Jerry Morin Educational Excellence Award to Churchill School technology teacher Eileen Darin.
A district employee for 22 years, Darin was thanked by staff and board members for her ongoing assistance to students and staff, and for her collaboration with the school district as a teacher’s representative.
“There hasn’t been a day that I haven’t seen Eileen give to staff and students,” said Churchill Principal CeCe Coffey. “She has given a huge helping hand with technology throughout the school.”
After school Darin has worked with students, taught technology for the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District and been a Girl Scout leader.
At the Feb. 8 board meeting, school board President Shelly Marks thanked Darin for her work with the Homewood Education Association. She credited Darin for instilling in her fellow members a spirit of collaboration, and thanked Darin for the “groundwork you put in place.”
