The winter doldrums have arrived, but the Parish of St. Joseph can help beat the cold weather blahs at its second Winter Picnic on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The community is invited to the parish school at 17951 Dixie Highway in downtown Homewood from 4 to 11 p.m. for food, games, a silent auction and entertainment.

Picnic shake off the winter
blues to the sounds of
“Midnight.” The band will
be performing again this
year.

“It’s the dead of winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun,” said Tom Brabec, event co-chair. “We had a great crowd at our 2015 picnic and got such an enthusiastic response that we’re doing it again.”

Brabec invites families to bring their kids for the fun in the Kids’ Games room.

The organizing committee’s planned a Photo Booth to help create memories of the fun party.

You can win a tasty treat at the Cake Walk, cover the card in the Bingo Room and bid on Silent Auction items. Look for tickets for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Wolves, the Indianapolis 500, Notre Dame football, golf at Coyote Run, dinner for six and a wide range of other items.

Parishioners will be serving a picnic meal of hot dogs, hamburgers and brats. Select beers will be available.

The band “Midnight” will get guests out of their chairs dancing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
