Police Reports: June 13, 2015

Got an old bike in your garage that hasn’t been used in years? How about a box of sensitive personal documents detailing tax records or bank statements?

The Village of Flossmoor is offering an easy way to “recycle” an unused bicycle or dispose of personal records that should not go out with the regular trash. Bike recycling and paper shredding will take place in the Village Hall parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Village Hall is located at 2800 Flossmoor Road.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
